The surgical robotics company, an early-stage, was founded by Professor Brice Gayet and Pierre Campredon in 2019. It is privately held portfolio company of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofinnovapartners.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sofinnova Partners<\/a>, financed through the MD Start III Fund. The core technology is derived from joint research between the&nbsp;<strong>Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics (Isir)<\/strong>* at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sorbonne-universite.fr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sorbonne University<\/a>&nbsp;and Professor Brice Gayet, a world-renowned surgeon and pioneer in minimally invasive surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MastOr&nbsp;<\/strong>obtained a seed investment from the Sofinnova Partners MD Start III fund, as well as non-dilutive financing through the i-Nov Innovation Award from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bpifrance.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BPI France<\/a>, the French national public investment bank. The seed and grant funding will be used for prototype development and pre-clinical validation.
