Can a robot be programmed to learn like a human? Find out from ISIR researchers at the Palais de la D\u00e9couverte in Paris.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Learning algorithms have made rapid progress in games (Go, chess) and text or image manipulation (recognition, synthesis). However, their application to robotics remains difficult, particularly when robots have to grasp objects in an unfamiliar environment. Researchers from the Institut des Syst\u00e8mes Intelligents et de Robotique present their work on robot learning inspired by human learning. Experimental demonstrations highlight the differences in the behaviour of the same robot, from behaviour programmed in detail to behaviour resulting from artificial intelligence algorithms enabling the robot to assimilate tasks for which it has not been programmed. The mechanisms of algorithms and artificial neural networks will be demystified in a visual and intuitive way using a graphical interface (AlphAI- Learning robots software).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
