To mark the Fête de la Science 2025, ISIR is offering two events that will immerse visitors in the world of robotics, combining fun introductions to the field with discoveries of the latest scientific advances.
Open doors to the general public: Discover robotics!

On Saturday, 11 October 2025, from 1 pm to 6 pm, ISIR will open its doors to the general public. Researchers will present their work through demonstrations, interactive experiments and mini-conferences.
Visitors will be able to explore the laboratory’s major research themes: machine autonomy, human-robot interaction, as well as applications in healthcare, the industry of the future and personal services.
The event is open to all, with free admission.

School workshops: Tomorrow, robots!

On Thursday 9 and Friday 10 October 2025, ISIR will welcome primary and secondary school classes for programming workshops based around the Thymio mobile robot.
For one hour, students will learn how to bring the robot to life by programming it using different languages adapted to their level (VPL, Blockly, text language). After an introduction to the fundamentals of robotics, they will be able to experiment with movement, obstacle detection and even take on challenges as a team.
The activity, limited to one class per slot, is adapted to the age and knowledge of the participants, with no prerequisites other than knowing how to use a computer. It is a practical and fun way to discover robotics, its vocabulary and its challenges.

Whether you are passionate about new technologies or simply curious, the Fête de la Science will be the perfect opportunity to discover how robotics is already shaping our daily lives and preparing for the future.
