On 28 June 2024, a scientific workshop was held at Sorbonne University in honour of Vincent Hayward, a pioneer in the field of haptics. The event, organised two days before the start of Eurohaptics 2024 at the initiative of ISIR members, brought together researchers, academics and industry professionals to celebrate Vincent’s remarkable contributions to the science of tactile perception and haptic technologies.
The day was marked by presentations and discussions highlighting recent advances in tactile perception, haptic interfaces and interactive technologies. Participants had the opportunity to share their research, exchange ideas and discuss future challenges and opportunities in the field.
The workshop not only paid tribute to the legacy of Vincent Hayward, but also served to inspire the next generation of researchers and professionals to continue exploring and innovating in tactile sciences. The event underlined the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing this field.
