Architectures and Models for Adaptation and Cognition

 

Research goals

Our researches have two main pruposes: contributing to a better understanding of biological mechanisms in living systems; conceiving robotic control architectures aiming at improving current robots' cognitive and motor abilities by integrating learning and decision-making processes. Our primary goal is thus to design computational models of perceptual, motor and cognitive functions, and to synthetize control architectures integrating these functions
Our work is anchored on a strong inter-disciplinary interaction between computational neuroscience and engineering science tools, techniques and concepts. Biological knowledge and data are used to inspire robotic developments. Engineering science tools and methods are used as modelling, optimization and validation techniques applied on considered biological hypotheses.
